THE PEOPLE OF ARTISTIC IMAGES

Growing up in Southern California, Mike Sarain decided to become an animator at an early age. A 7th grade video class awakened an interest in video and film. A few jobs working on sets after high school confirmed that this was the right career.

Reluctant to leave the paradise of Southern California beaches for the crowds and smog of Los Angeles, Mike spent the next few years surfing and skiing, waiting for the right opportunity to come along.

Soon, Mike was shooting video at Southwestern Cable TV, learning the business along the way, and founding his own company, Terramar Productions. In 1984, Terramar Productions brought surfing to 6 Southern California cable television stations, with the hit show WAVELENGTH. (Click here for a WAVELENGTH bumper sticker). Using 3/4" videotape and an Amiga 2000 computer, WAVELENGTH was a lively, graphics oriented program. In its 5 year run, Mike produced over 100 WAVELENGTH episodes featuring action sports clips and interview and lifestyle segments, as well as news and sponsorship elements.
